About the author

I am an academic book historian and a digital humanist. I am equally interested in how texts came into existence in books, and in how digital culture is changing the nature of the book - and much else besides. My book historical interests include ballads, chapbooks, printing surface, copyright and book trade history. This site contains links to a number of my research projects, which are mostly digital.

I am currently Senior Researcher in Digital Humanities in the Visual Geometry Group in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford.
